Celebrate the season with Second Wind Jazz



Swingin TunesYou’re invited to the Hollywood Senior Center, 1820 N.E. 40 Avenue, Portland,  Sunday, Dec. 21, at 3:00 p.m. for a special concert by Second Wind Jazz.

This unique local jazz group are teachers, firefighters, accountants and engineers by day, but since 1998, they’ve been keeping the sounds of the Big Band music alive.  On Sunday, they’ll entertain us with Christmas tunes.

Free “Repair a Gift” Cafe’ – December 13

Save-Money-on-Home-ImprovementRepair PDX volunteers will be at the Hollywood Senior Center Dec. 13, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  In their goal of repairing items, rather than throwing them away, they will be repairing bikes and small appliances and do minor sewing repairs. In addition they will fix computers and toys, with the hope that a repaired item may make a nice gift for someone this holiday.   No appointment is necessary, so stop by with your broken gadgets. Plus, it’s FREE!
