New Seasons Bag-It-Forward Program: Support Hollywood Senior Center

Hollywood Senior Center is honored to be part of the BAG IT FORWARD program starting this month at New Seasons Grant Park through July 2017. The Bag it Forward ProgBag-it-Forward-Logoram gives customers an opportunity to donate their reusable bag credits (5¢ each) to a nonprofit organization.

Customers can choose from a number of beneficiaries representing New Seasons Market’s tenets of giving: fighting hunger, supporting K-12 schools, and promoting environmental conservation.

We need your help in ensuring that Hollywood Senior Center continues to receive critical funding for our programs and services. Bring in a reusable bag at the Grant Park New Seasons Store and help support senior services. It’s a win-win.

Please help spread the word throughout your personal and professional communities–every bag credit counts!

February 28: Campaign for Oregon Seniors in Salem

With a proposed Oregon State Budget calling for a 75 percent reduction to Oregon Project Independence, an effective statewide program that enables older adults and people with disabilities to stay in their homes safely and as independently as possible, and additional cuts to transportation services, your advocacy is critical this legislative session.

Join Hollywood Senior Center staff, advocates, and older adults from across Oregon on February 28 at this year’s CAMPAIGN FOR OREGON SENIORS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ADVOCACY DAY in Salem.  Lunch and snacks will be provided to everyone participating. This Advocacy Day field trip is an important opportunity to meet with your local legislators and lobby to preserve Oregon Project Independence and other important state-funded programs for older adults.

To register for this event and sign up for transportation to and from Salem, call 503-288-8303. As we move into the budget season, many services for seniors at all levels are in jeopardy of cuts. We will need your support to advocate to help maintain these vital services and programs.
