Cooling Center: Saturday & Sunday, June 24 & 25

The Hollywoo7236051-staycool-FINALd Senior Center will serve as an official Multnomah Cooling Center this weekend. We’ll be open 2 pm to 5 pm Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25. We’ll serve refreshments and show a movie each day. At 2:30 pm on Saturday, we’ll show A DOG’S PURPOSE. At 2:30 pm on Sunday, we’ll show BEAUTY & THE BEAST. June 28: Healthier Living for Your Brain & Body

The AlzheimAAer Association will offer “Healthier Living for Your Brain and Body” at the Hollywood Senior Center Wednesday, June 28, from 1 to 2:30 pm. This workshop will teach participants about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity, and social engagement. Plus, you’ll learn how to turn hands-on tools into a plan for healthy aging.

June 22: Riders Club Heads to Dragon Boat Art Show

This month the Hollywood fire-on-the-water-banner_2017Senior Center Riders Club will head to the DRAGON BOAT ART SHOW, Fire on the Water, at Antoinette Hatfield Hall in downtown Portland. Riders are asked to meet at 9:15 am in the Hollywood senior Center lobby on Thursday, June 22. Free bus tickets will be provided when traveling with the RIDE AMBASSADOR to the show, which starts at 10 am. To register, please call 503-288-8303. June 19: “Fred Astaire–His Life in Pictures” Persentation

Please join GORDON NEAL HERMAN at the Hollywood Senior Center Monday, June 19, from 1 to 2 pm for “Fred Astaire: His Life in Pictures.” Gordon, a multi-talented musiciFredan, will show video clips from Fred Astaire’s movie and TV career to demonstrate his dance skills.

From dancing on stage with his sister, Adele, to dancing with Ginger Rogers and others on the silver screen, Fred Astaire brought dance to its pinnacle in musicals.
