November 6: Comfortably Numb CBD Workshop

November 3: The Barber of Seville

Portland Opera to Go! is proud to  present The Barber of Seville at the Hollywood Senior Center, on Saturday, November 3, 2:00-3:30 pm.  A beautiful bilingual production of Rossini’s classic charmer. Set in 1830’s California, all of the buoyant good humor has been retained and added a fresh twist for audiences of all ages. NEW! Every Thursday Ping Pong


Have fun, laugh and get healthy! Table tennis ( ping pong ) and tai chi (chi-pong) harmonize together at the Hollywood Senior Center every Thursday afternoon, 3:30-4:30 pm. Competitive table tennis player and comedian Ric Mancuso, owner of Serve with Return, will share his expertise in ping pong and incorporate various wellness modalities, such as core strengthening, stretching techniques and heart health-and he’ll throw in a few jokes too! Drop-Ins welcome.

October 27: Holiday Craft Bazaar


Get your holiday shopping done early! Enjoy festive shopping and support local crafters at Hollywood Senior Center’s Annual Holiday Craft Bazaar Saturday, October 27, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Handmade specialty items including baby clothes, quilts, bags, aprons, jewelry, and more will be available for purchase at the Bazaar. October 26: Pizza and Movie: Chappaquiddick

Enjoy a Pizza Lunch and Movie for only $3.00, the best deal in Portland.

Wait… there’s more!

The movie “Chappaquiddick” will be shown at 1 pm.  On July 18, 1969, Sen. Ted Kennedy drives his car off a  bridge on Massachusetts’ Chappaquiddick Island. The accident results in the death of passenger Mary Jo Kopechne, a 28-year-old campaign strategist who worked for Kennedy. This movie stars Jason Clark, Kate Mara, and Ed Helms. There is a suggested donation of $1.00 for the movie.

October 23: Travel, Health and Reverse Mortgages Seminars

Tom Higham of Travel by Tom Higham, Brandi Wismeth-Platt of HealthNet and David Labovitz of Mortgage Express, will present three Mini-Seminars for Seniors: Travel, Health and Reverse Mortgages.  These  experts in each field will give quick and informative presentations. October 19 Riders Club Trip: Apple Festival at Portland Nursery

Join RideWise on a trip to Portland Nursery’s Apple Tasting. Taste as many as 60 different types of apples, try cider, and pick up some apples by the pound. Bring money to buy apples, and maybe a snack.  We’ll be taking public transportation, so make sure you don’t buy more apples than you can carry.  Meet the Ride Ambassador at 9:30 am in the Hollywood Senior Center Lobby and return around 12:30 pm.
