Belly Dance for Healing is a dance class that combines the ancient movements of belly dance with therapeutic healing practices from all over the world. Chi gong, stretching (yoga), deep breathing and simple meditation are all featured in this slow-paced and energizing class. All fitness levels welcome. Enjoy the dance at the Hollywood Senior Center, Fridays, April 5-26, 9:00-10:15am. There is a sliding scale of $5-$15 to the instructor. Please call the Center at 503-288-8303 to register.
The Portland Youth Builders will lead a 30-minute presentation followed by 20 minutes of hands-on activities. The high school students will have laptops on hand and encourage class participants to bring questions.Topics will include: Intro to Smart Phones, Smartphone settings and Storage, Apps You Can Use (Travel, Library, Movies), Senior Scams, Microsoft Office, Windows 10, and Silhouette Paper Cutter-Pop Up Cards. Enjoy a FREE noon-time performance from the elite multi-ethnic dance troupe from Portland’s own Jefferson High. This exciting performance will be held at the Antoinette Hatfield Hall on Monday, April 8. Meet the Ride Ambassador, who will distribue FREE bus passes, at 10:30 in the HSC lobby.
