Starts May 22: Six-week Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Class

Due program logosto popular demand, the Hollywood Senior Center is offering a second session of the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Program starting May 22. The six-week, evidence-based program meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2 to 3 pm. Sarah Barrett and Kathleen Sillonis, certified Walk with Ease leaders, will facilitate the class that includes physical, educational, and social components. May Nutrition Workshop Series: Nutri-Blending Your Way to Health

Hollywood Senior Center, Age Wise Institute and National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) will host a Nutri-Blending Workshop Series on Fridays from 2 to 4 pm on May 12, May 19, and May 26. Learn a variety of recipes using a simple blender from a healing smoothie to a warm soup and diabetic-friendly, sugar-free desserts. All participants will receive take-home recipes (all vegan and gluten-free) to blend at home. The series, which will be held at the Hollywood Senior Center, will be facilitated by Nutritionist Emma Kingsberg from NUNM. Please call 503-288-8303 to register.

HollywA Finished Heartood Senior Center is cohosting Elliott Cherry’s A FINISHED HEART: CONVERSATIONS¬†BETWEEN A DYING MAN AND HIS HUSBAND Sunday, May 7, at 3pm at Portland Abbey Arts (7600 N. Hereford Street, Portland, OR 97203).

The performance will be followed by audience discussion with the author/performer, facilitated by professionals in the fields of caregiving, end-of-life and loss. This production is made possible by a grant from North Portland Neighborhood Services.
