Hollywood Senior Center has been actively working to shift onsite activities to remote/virtual programming so that you can continue to participate in the classes and groups that you enjoy and benefit from. We’re looking at creative ways to offer programming to our participants who are at home and crave social, emotional, physical, and intellectual connection. Social distancing doesn’t have to mean social isolation.
We are excited to introduce HSC at Home Virtual Programming. Look for exercise classes, workshops, entertainment, support groups and much more in the coming weeks!
We know this is a scary time, especially for seniors in our community. It’s important to stay informed and know what resources are available in the community to support you. Below are some resources for information and local non-profits services.

- There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
- The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.
- The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.
- Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
- Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.
- These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
- Some recent studies have suggested that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms.
– Clean your hands often
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
– Avoid close contact
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home as much as possible.
- Put distance between yourself and other people.
- Remember that some people without symptoms may be able to spread virus.
- Keeping distance from others is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.

Meals on Wheels People dining centers will be providing take-home meals to its constituents in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties beginning Friday, March 13, 2020 in an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Meals on Wheels home-delivery will continue uninterrupted using a non-contact delivery method.

Grant Park Neighborhood Association
Neighborly Assistance with groceries and other errands.
During this time of social distancing, many elder and high-risk members of our community may need assistance getting critical supplies while refraining from being in large public spaces.
Grant Park Neighborhood Association will help to match healthy volunteers under age 60 with neighbors who self-isolate at home and need help getting groceries, picking up prescriptions, and running errands.
Are you over 60, at high risk for COVID-19, or currently sick and staying at home? It’s okay to ask for help, that’s why we’re neighbors!
