When: Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Cost: $55 per visit; $75 for home visit by registered nurse.
Appointments required. Call 503-288-8303 to make an appointment. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, facial masks are required and nurses will provide towels.

Please note: Hollywood Senior Center is closed to the public (except for the Foot Care Clinic) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The classes and services listed below have been temporarily canceled until further notice.

However, we offer many virtual classes via Zoom.

Evidence-Based Health Programs

Mondays & Wednesdays, 1–2 p.m.
COST: $5.00/class in advance to the instructor.

Tai Chi for Health programs developed by Dr. Paul Lam. These classes are great for beginners; or anyone interested in learning highly effective, health-promoting, fall-reducing evidenced-based tai chi programs. The forms are fun to do and the people who do them are fun to meet.

Come have fun while you improve your health. These tai chi sets have been endorsed by the Center for Disease Control, the American Council on Aging, many arthritis and diabetes foundations around the world, and other national and international organizations. Led by certified and trained instructor Candace Herrill.

We will be starting a short fan form for those who have already discovered the magic of tai chi. If you’ve already learned a tai chi set, you will love adding this one to your repertoire. Come join us. Led by certified and trained instructor Candace Herrill.

Designed to accommodate those with arthritis, this exercise program promotes optimum joint fexibility, muscle strength, endurance, coordination, and cardiovascular conditioning.

Ping Pong and Tai Chi Together

Have fun, laugh, and get healthy! Table tennis and Tai Chi harmonize together in Chi-Pong! Competitive table tennis player and comedian Ric Mancuso, owner of Serve with Return, will share his expertise in ping pong and incorporate various wellness modalities, such as core strengthening, stretching techniques, and heart health—and he’ll throw in
a few jokes too!

1st & 4th Mondays, 12:15–1:15 p.m.

Love to dance and have fun? Long-time Zumba Gold instructor Debbie Karavias gets participants dancing to the beat of Latin-inspired and world music tunes while sneaking in both low and high-intensity moves. All levels welcome.

Together we find a grounded sense of strength and support to facilitate easeful movement both on and o the mat. Beginners welcome. Students need to be comfortable getting down on the floor. Please bring your own yoga mat.

Designed for individuals 55 and up, this class features individual instruction and works to improve balance and breathing.

Meals on Wheels People Lunch Program

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

The Hollywood Senior Center serves hot nutritious lunches provided by Loaves & Fishes. Diners have a choice of a daily entrée, as well as fresh salads and desserts. Meals are available to anyone age 60 and older. The cost of each meal is $7.39; diners are asked to contribute what they can afford. The menu is available at the Hollywood Senior Center.
