12/1/2021 Update: Hollywood Senior Center is not yet open for unscheduled activities.  We continue to offer a variety of virtual programs, as well as in-person programs by appointment.  Please check the Virtual Events Calendar virtual classes via Zoom. At this time we require all participants for in-person programming to wear a mask and be vaccinated. 

In-person Programs at Hollywood Senior Center (we will be closed the week of Dec. 27, so there will be no in-person programs that week)

  • Chi-Pong – Every Tuesday from 1:30-3:00pm
  • Zumba Gold – Every other Wednesday from 10:00-11:00am (starting Dec. 1st)
  • Pinochle – Every Friday from 11:30am-1:30pm (no games on 12/24)
  • Crafting –  1st and 3rd Mondays from 1:00-2:30pm (limited spots, please call or email to register – description below)
  • Book Lovers Discussion Group – 2nd Wednesday, from 11:00am-12:30pm
  •  Monthly Hollywood Theatre Movie Screening  (please check our calendar for updates)

Live Zooming (we will be closed the week of Dec. 27, so there will be no live Zooming that week)

  • Arthritis Exercise with Sandy Morales: Weekly on Wednesdays • 11:00–11:50am
  • Chair Yoga: Weekly on Thursdays • 9:00–10:00am

Masks Optional Walks

Every Tuesday & Saturday • 10:30-11:45 AM (no walk on 12/25 or 1/1)

Meets at the northeast corner of Grant Park, at the intersection of NE 36th Avenue and NE Brazee Street at approximately 10:30am. In compliance with OHA mask requirement exemptions, masks are encouraged, but not required. [OAR 333-019-1025(5)(d)&(g)].

The Thursday walking group will now meet indoors due to the inclement seasonal weather. The new meeting location is inside the Lloyd Center Mall in front of Macy’s Department Store (you should be able to see the ice skating rink from the Macy’s entrance). The address is 2201 Lloyd Ctr, Portland, OR 97232.

Individual Computer Classes

Want to learn more about using computers? Get set up for email? Get on Facebook? We provide one-on-one computer training at no charge. Classes are taught by a knowledgeable senior computer enthusiast.

Classes through Portland Parks and Recreation  (currently cancelled due to Covid)

The Hollywood Senior Center hosts a number of classes sponsored by the City of Portland parks department. Please contact Parks and Recreation at 503-823-2525 for class information, cost, and to register.
