Hollywood Senior Center couldn’t operate without the help of wonderful volunteers who donate their time and talent to serve our community. Whatever your age, interests, or skills, you can find a rewarding volunteer or an internship opportunity with us.

Volunteer Opportunities
Commitment: 2 hours per week on a weekly or every other week schedule
Help support social connection for seniors in our community. We are currently looking for tech-savvy individuals to provide support to seniors looking to use technology to stay connected and participate in online programming. We are looking for volunteers to provide 1:1 support and assist participants over the phone. Currently Remote.
Commitment: weekly or episodic
Support life-long learning and reduce social isolation. Volunteers to lead a variety of programs and classes that address the social, physical, intellectual, and emotional needs of the senior community. Programming is currently offered via Zoom through our HSC at Home Virtual Programming. Ability to use Zoom required. Currently Remote.
Commitment: 1-2 hours a week or as needed/on-call
Socialization, peace of mind, and a friendly voice are all part of the experience for those participating in our Telephone Pal program. Volunteers provide friendly check-in calls to older adults in the community and follow-up with appropriate staff regarding specific needs. Currently Remote.
Commitment: 1-2 hours a week or as needed/on-call
Help address food insecurity in our community. Volunteers to make weekly food and supply deliveries to seniors in the community. Deliveries are picked up at the Hollywood Senior Center.
Commitment: flexible
Hollywood Senior Center needs help preparing the building to reopen to the public. We are looking for yard work in the front and back of the building and organizing within the building.
Commitment: flexible
Assist with administrative tasks at the Hollywood Senior Center including data entry, copying, mailing, scheduling, and phone calls.
Internship Opportunities
Commitment: starting as soon as possible through December 31; up to 10 hours per week on a flexible schedule
The Social Media and Marketing Intern will help Hollywood Senior Center run a successful Season of Sharing fundraising campaign with a focus on developing and coordinating social media efforts. View the full position description here.
Board of Directors Opportunities
Commitment: 2-3 hours a month for a two-year term
The Hollywood Senior Center is seeking new members to join the Board of Directors. It is seeking members who can bring financial acumen, organizational skills, creative thinking, and an understanding of the Center’s role in the community. In addition, professional non-profit and financial management experience is a plus.
