Mask Policy

We at the Community for Positive Aging are concerned about protecting the health and safety of our most vulnerable members. This primary concern has guided our decisions about mask policies at the Center.

Over the last 3 years, CFPA has developed its mask guidelines and other COVID-19 policies based on current guidance from public health officials including, Oregon Health Authority, Multnomah County Health Department, and the Oregon Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) temporary rule 437-001-0744.

This month, Oregon Health Authority is lifting the mask requirement for health care settings beginning April 3. Read more about the decision on Oregon Gov website.

What does this decision mean for participants, volunteers, staff and visitors to CFPA?

Following the OHA decision to lift the mask mandate, CFPA will no longer require participants at the Center to wear a mask upon entering the Center beginning April 3. *

However, we strongly encourage participants to continue wearing masks in order to protect the most vulnerable members of our community.

Surgical masks will be available at the front desk at the Center. They will also be available at the back entrance right by the door.

We recognize that people in our community have strong opinions concerning the mask mandate. While we will no longer require participants to wear masks, we request and strongly encourage participants, as well as staff, volunteers and visitors to continue to wear masks to protect the most vulnerable among us and ensure that our programming and services are accessible to all.

Thank you for helping to keep our community safe.

As of April 2023

We strongly encourage participants to continue wearing masks in order to protect the most vulnerable members of our community.
